Despite being rather disappointed with the my host-buddy flopping for family reasons and two close friends ditching. Of which one of them I spent a whole day downtown SHOPPING AND PLANNING HER OUTFIT to make her debut into Lolita.

I am moving on. I've decided that this will not faze me in my next meet-up.

Currently, I am looking to do at least 2 more ( Read more... )

Yeah. Those passes are gold for stuff that can cost $17-22 a pop.

As for the Craft portion I was thinking that because we have such a large DIY community I wouldn't mind teaching something (making jewelry, sewing, or flower arranging...etc.) to others and have others teach me what they are good at. The concept would be a sharing skills and benefiting from it. I mean, I suck at cooking and I am mediocre at baking.

If I could rent a studio with a kitchen and have someone lead me through that would be great. Especially, we can all look pretty while doing it. At the same time a swap could be done for people who want to sell or indie brands that are local who want to sell. Give people a chance to see stuff up close. Kinda like a Lolita Flea Market. Haha. What do you think? Am I aiming too high?

Thanks, Val. Your comment before was touching. Don't know if I replied back to it. :/ Honestly, I find the GTA-Loli to be pretty lethargic. After two years of experiencing this aspect I decided to get up on my ass and do something about it. I am pretty distant with people and this will help me in the future.

I like the idea of having a swap-craft-indie-cooking-etc meet.
It'll be difficult but looking at how the Jly 4th meetup turned out, with enough notice you definately won't have any problems attendance-wise. Everything else, like you said, you'll have to discuss with fellow organziers.

Haha no problem ;D Organizing things can be such a headache... Maybe when I've been in the community a bit longer and get more of a feel for things, I too will get around to prodding the comm back to life :D
