It's been quite a while I didn't put something here, because I thought I already did. So here are some things I did last month, mainly studies because I couldn't do something else.
Bones studies, because I love bones, well, vetebrae at least. I must have drawn a hundred of pelvis bones and I still don't understand how it works. Copies from an atlas of anatomy and from this very useful
site
10 min studies for each pose from the gesture tool drawing.
A copy of a portrait of Van Gogh with acrylics. My acrylic paint is very liquid, so it's very different from gouache, or maybe it's because it's very cheap acrylic. Portraits are a big difficulty for me, but I'm more motivated to paint portraits than draw them apparently. Also, it's very foolish to copy a master using so many colors in his palette for a first time.
Copy from a painting of Klimt, very nice to analyse and seeing how he uses turquoise blue on a face and yet bring such life in it.
Observation drawings from nude classes. Seeing the fist drawings of october and comparing with the ones from now makes me see that I have improved. Those classes are really useful to me, not only because of the nude models but because the teacher I have is really great too. Also, learning anatomy combining with this is the best combo. So if I won't be accepted to a school next year, I'll definitely go to those classes again.
Inking tests and drawings from photos references from this
site. Finally, I can draw something that doesn't disgust me of makes me feel super frustrated. I also takes references from Kaoru Mori and mostly from Aki Irie. I'm glad to have found their mangas at the librairy. I really love these artists and I'm trying to see if I can get something good from taking refs from different people. I think I passed the stage of "I don't draw from references because I feel so wrong to do this". I still feel quite wrong to do it, but I really can't learn a thing if I don't take references. So, yup.
Also please tell me if my inking is wrong because I have no ability to know where to put bigger strokes of thin ones to make it "vibrant".
I wanted to do a little comic till the end of the month so maybe it's thanks to it that I'm training to do this.
