Summary: Kazuya and Jin are together. Kazuya watches Jin playing with kids, and does a little too much thinking for his own good. Just another cliché fic.
A/N: Happy birthday to myself~ :D Totally woth of Junno, isn't it? Beware of extreme fluffiness and un-betaed english.
Kame likes mornings. He likes to wake up to the warm sunlight bathing his face. He likes the feeling of Jin’s warm body pressing against him, and the way the older’s smell surronds him completely. He likes the smell that is so Jin, and he likes how Jin’s t-shirt feels around him. He likes that Jin always put it on him at night, because Jin always gets hot and Kame always gets cold when they sleep. He likes it when Jin grunts and turns his back on him - refusing to wake up - when he shifts even if just a little. He likes that he has to poke Jin, push him and bug him until Jin finally moves and glomps him in a sleepy hug, lying on top of him and holding him down with his weight but still not waking up.
Kame definetly likes morning, especially so mornings with Jin.

Kame sips on his coffee, comfortably snuggling in the couch near Jin. The older man has a beer on hand, and is gesticulating madly as he watchs the soccer match. Kame doesn’t really care about it, doesn’t even know the teams playing - and he very much suspects neither does Jin. Shirota Yuu is sitting on their armchair, eyes trained on the screen and beer in hand. Kame kind of remembers him saying there were two Spanish soccer teams playing, but he had never been one to follow soccer, much less foreing soccer.
The match ends and Shirota lets out an annoyed grunt, Jin mirroring him - out of sympathy, Kame guesses. Shirota leans back on the armchair, takes a chug of his beer, smiles brightly at them. Kame snuggles a little more against Jin’s warmth.
“Mom is having a barbacue this Sunday and she told me to invite ‘Jin-kun’ along, so wanna come? Kamenashi-kun can come too.”
Jin grins widely. “Sure man, it’s gonna be fun.”
Shirota smiles and raises his beer in a mock toast. “¡Salud!” he says, and Kame can’t help but to chuckle when Jin tries to repeat it in his broken Spanish.

When they enter the Shirota’s garden everybody is already there, and they are greeted cheerfully. Kame smiles and apologizes for taking so long to drag Jin out of the bed, and Jin pouts and whines that it is not his fault if he is bad at waking up on Sunday mornings. Their friends tease him mercilessly and he runs away and takes selther with Yuu’s younger sister.
Pi pulls on Kame’s arm and leads him into the group of people, makes him join the animated chatter. Toma is sipping on his beer, Ryo and Jun discussing something. Pi draps an arm around Kame’s shoulders, puts a beer on his hand and tries to engage him in a conversation with Toma, but they end up doing most of the talking while Kame listens, not really interested.
At the end Kame manages to slip from under Pi’s arm, and wanders around the garden a little, generally enjoying the sunny weather and the lively atmosphere. He finally settles down against a table and focuses his attention on Jin. The older man is grinning like a kid, running around pulling off funny faces as he plays with Yuu’s younger sister and her friends. They pull on his hands and his clothes, jump on him, tackle him down to the grass. Jin just laughs loudly, and it makes Kame smile too, how happy he looks.
“Akanishi-kun is really good with kids, isn’t him?”
Kame turns around, a soft smile on his face as he nods to Yuu’s mother. She smiles up at Kame, blonde hair shining under the sun, face nice and gentle, a golden cross necklace hanging from her neck. Her Japanese is still a little accented, even after all these years, and Kame thinks it’s a little bit funny as he answers. “He has always liked them a lot.”
The woman looks at Jin and nods knowingly. “Whoever marries him will be lucky. He will make a great father.”
Kame forces himself to smile and nod, and does a silly joke that makes her laugh before excusing himself. He walks over to where the guys are and tries to pay attention to their talking, but when he looks back at Jin he feels a painful clenching on his chest because Jin already has someone with whom he will never be able to be a dad.

Kame is silent on their way back. Jin drives, turns on the radio, steals glances at him every now and then, but doesn’t say anything - he knows better than to try to talk to Kame when he doesn’t want to - and Kame pretends he doesn’t notice. He rests his face against the window and closes his eyes, smiling a little at the soft music Jin chooses for him.
Jin offers himself to cook dinner when they get back home, but Kame is not hungry, prefers to go early to bed. Jin nods - eyes worried - and follows him into the bedroom. They change into their pajamas silently - Jin’s t-shirt hanging loosely from Kame’s shoulders, showing his collarbones, baggy pants sitting low on his hips. Kame gets into the bed silently, curls up under the blanket and closes his eyes. He feels Jin getting in after him, feels his strong arms pulling him closer to his warm chest. Kame doesn’t move, pretends to be asleep, and soon Jin breath is coming in even puffs.
Kame turns around when he knows Jin is fast asleep. He brings his hands to rest on the older’s chest, feels the heartbeat, the warmth coming from his boyfriend’s body. He looks up at Jin’s sleeping face - sweet and peaceful - and traces his fingertips lightly over the smooth forehead, the pink hued cheeks, the smiling lips. Jin squirms a little under his touch, but doesn’t awaken, just sighs contentedly.
Kame thinks that maybe he has done a little too much thinking today, but he can’t stop himself when he looks at Jin and imagines him holding a baby in his arms. He imagines Jin’s excited smile as an echography shows restless little hands, Jin’s squeals as tiny feet bump against his hands under a rounded belly, Jin’s bliss as he rocks a baby to sleep. Kame imagines him playing with a toddler, bathing him, walking him to school. He imagines Jin’s eyebrows knotted in confusion over scribbled notebooks as he tries to help his kid with the homework, his proud cheerings as he watches a son playing soccer and scoring a goal, his anxious face as he waits for a daughter who comes back home late.
Kame imagines all of it, Jin’s happiness and joy. He sees it all so clear in his mind and hates himself a little, because he doesn’t want Jin to experience any of it, not if it means Kame is going to lose him.

When Jin wakes up in the morning he stirs and yanws, stretching out his limbs like a cat without totally waking up. He purs at the warmth surronding him and pats around a little, finally awakening when he can’t find his boyfriend’s body. He reluctanty opens his eyes, blinking to adjust to the light, and Kame is nowhere to be seen.
Jin frowns and gets out of the bed, walks into the living room and still doesn’t see Kame. There’s a tray with his breakfast on the coffee table, and a bright pink post-it stuck to the wood, Kame’s neat handwriting reading ‘I’m sorry’ on it. Jin’s frowns deepens as he reads it and sits down to start eating, trying to convince himself he shouldn’t worry.

When Kame returns home - holding some shopping bags in his hands, shopping always helps him to relax - Jin is sprawled on the couch, remote control on hand while distractedly zapping. He raises his head when he hears the door, and smiles happily at Kame, straightening up and stretching out. Kame smiles back a little unsure.
“Where have you been?”
He has been fearing the question, but raises his bags, trying to sound nonchalant. “Went shopping.”
“Isn’t it a little too early for that?”
“The shops are always crowded in the afternoon and I don’t want to be recogniz -”
“What’s bothering you?”
Kame sighs, he has known it from the start, that he can’t trick Jin. He drops his bags, and plops himself down on the couch. “I’m fine.”
“You’re not. You only shop in the mornings when you’re stressed.”
“I’m sorry.”
“I already got that from the note. What are you sorry for?”
Kame closes his eyes, musters up the courage to get the words out, regrets it the moment he does. “I love you so much I don’t want you to ever leave me.”
It sounds lame, some line picked up from a cliche soap opera, and he can feel Jin’s confusion by his side. “I love you too. I don’t know why are you apologizing for that. There’s no ne -”
“You like kids, right?”
“I do.”
“And you like me.”
“I love you more than life itself.”
Jin’s eyes widen for a moment, then he closes them, realizing where the conversation is going, what’s going on with Kame. He sighs, eyes still closed, and hears the boy whispering an apology again. Jin wraps his arm around Kame, pulls him closer before he can react. Kame gasps, surprised, but lets Jin be, curls up against him.
“You’re my boyfriend.” Kame nods, still not talking. “And you know me, right?” Another nod. “And do you think I’d stick with something I don’t want?”
Kame looks down, and it takes him a little to shake his head, eyes lifting toward Jin, shining with hope. Jin burrows his face in Kame’s mane, takes a deep breath, enjoys the smell.
“I like you. I love you. I want to be with you, and I know what it means, I knew it from the start. I have thought about it - the dates, the kids, the family life, all the things I won’t have, not like eveyone does at least. And I still want to be with you, will still want it tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow and I won’t stop anytime soon.”
He feels Kame snuggling up against him, and he hugs him closer, press a kiss to the top of his head. Kame sighs contentedly and kisses the side of Jin’s chest. Jin smiles, and everything is so sweet, feels so unreal that he is glad when a cold hand makes its way under his shirt and comes to rest against his warm belly, making him squirm and giggle.
“We can always buy another puppy, you know.”
