Title: The memories you bring me
Fandom: KAT-TUN
Pairing: Akame
Rating: G
Disclaimer: They're not mine. Sad but true.
Summary: Jin looks at Kame, and remembers.

“Nakamaru! What do you think you’re doing, you idiot?! It has been ten years, remember?! We’re no longer kids, you have no right to do this!”

“If you’re not kids then stop acting like you were and make up already. Then you can come out.”

“Nakamaru! I don’t have time for this bullshits!”

Jin continues to bang the door, yelling at Nakamaru to let them out while Kame just sighs and sits down on a chair. He has always wondered why does the Jimusho have so many useless rooms that whenever Jin and him fight, Nakamaru can find an empty one to lock them up.

It takes Jin a few minutes to get that their bandmate it’s not letting them out for a while, and finally throws himself onto the sofa with a huff, right across from Kame. Kame has his eyes closed, head threw back, and Jin wonders what is he thinking. The group is not very busy lately, so probably it’s not work. Though, Jin knows, almost everything Kame thinks is always related to work. He’s such a workaholic.

The room is quiet and he is starting to get bored. He looks for something to distract himself with but Ueda has snatched his mobile phone and his music player - as well as Kame’s - before helping Nakamaru to shove them there. Before he can help it, Jin finds himself staring at Kame, roaming his eyes all over his little frame, and somehow he finds his bandmate highly entertaining. Jin looks at Kame, and it surprises him the amount of memories of his life that involve the younger boy.

He remembers Kame at twelve, a little shy awkward boy with weird hair and weird brows that bumped into him when they were leaving the building. He remembers the blush in the kid’s cheeks, his clumsy bow and ashamed mumbled, and he remembers himself laughing and chatting with him. Jin remembers exchanging telephone numbers and the look in Kame’s eyes.

Then Kame is fourteen and they’re already friends. Jin thinks about work when it was still funy and just a game, he thinks about Kame and him dancing together and the way Kame used to scold him even before Ueda got the chance to whenever he messed the steps. He thinks about all those times before the concerts when they meshed their hands together and screamed “Fight!” in high voices, and how his eyes used to look after Kame’s just to find him as nervous and excited as he was.

They were teenagers and there were excited phonecalls to tell each other who their new girlfriend was, and rushed meetings to chat about how their dates had been. Jin smiles when the images of the sleepovers come to his mind, because there’s Kame wearing cute childlish pajamas and blushing like mad whenever Jin tol him about all the things he had done with his girlfriends, because two years are a lot of expierience when you’re only fifteen. Jin has to fight back a smile because Kame is absentmindedly biting his lips and it reminds him of the way the boy used to do it when Jin teased him about being a little more bolder with girls. At the end Kame would hit him with the pillow, and they would fight and laugh and somehow end up talking about work and dreams of being idols until late at night.

Jin remembers Okinawa, the beach and the sea and the sun, and Kame’s squeaks when he threw him into the cold water. He remembers the laughs and the races in the sand and the night in the tent. He remembers talking about being famous and rich, about appearing in the most watched TV shows and realeasing CDs and holding concerts in big arenas and being friends forever, no matter what. He remembers buying the pinky rings and wearing them, smiling when they saw the other’s one.

There are a thousand hundred memories coming to Jin’s mind, replaying scenes he hasn’t remembered for a while, and he doesn’t notice the dumb smile that’s curling his lips until Kame snaps.

“Hey, what are you staring at, idiot?”

Jin blinks rapidly and notices Kame is looking at him, half amused and half upset. Jin suddenly remembers he was angry with the boy, but his face does not obey him when he tries to frown and glare, and he can not even remember why he was angry at, anyway. Kame lifts a finely plucked eyebrow as his bandmate smiles widely and gets up, walking up to him and holding his hand out for him.

“I’m sorry.”

Kame stares at the hand and pretends he is thinking whether he should take it or no just to tease Jin, who starts to look unsure until the younger finally laughs and grabs it, getting up and shaking it happily and Jin’s face lights up.

“Friends?”

Kame doesn’t even need to reply nor nodd because his smile is all Jin needs to know everything is fine, and Jin remembers how much does he love this smile that means they have make up again. Nakamaru finally opens the door and Jin is about to leave when Kame tuggs of his sleeve. He turns, and finds him looking shyly at the floor just like if he was the kid he used to be.

“Do you have time for a drink?”

Jin remembers yelling something about being in a rush when Nakamaru locked them up, but he is unable to remember why he was in a hurry for and finally concludes it doesn’t matter at all if he can see his friend smiling like that even if it is just for a little more.

“Sure.”
