hello everyone - i decided to stop being lazy and give you all a quick update.

Friday Katie and Diane arrived in ames (they're graduated AeroE's) so the three of us went to dinner at the House of Chen (a tasty Chinese place behind the mall). Later I ended up going to the haunted forest with Lori and her roomates. It was just at crappily lame as i remember. Had fun though. After that I went out to Welch Ave. with the usual Crew. we hung around there until about 1am. At this point Liz and I needed gyros and Erica demanded Quiznos, so everyone kind of spilt up and went towards their own beer food. It felt very much like i was shuffling friends the whole night. But it was still fun because I got to see a lot of people I don't usually hang out whith and then got to get mostly drunk with Liz and my roomates.

Saturday afternoon John called me up and said that the Ames library was having a book sale, so we went to that. there were a crapload of books and everything was less than $1. I picked up Seven Plays by Bernard Shaw (which was really cool because the previous owner had pressed leaves between the pages of the book), Friday by Robert A. Heinlein, A History of Secret Societies by Arkon Daraul, Alvin Toffler's Future Shock, the Brink which is about the Cuban Missile Crisis, and Koko by Peter Straub.

Sunday was an almost-botched breakfast with a few AeroE's followed up with a walk through the butterfly garden and a very very short "hike" through Ledges. We were horribly swarmed by asian lady beetles.

Later Liz and I went to see "the Warriors of Heaven and Earth". the movie was ok. certainly not the best I've ever seen. Increasing complications arose when someone decided to use thin, pale yellow (gold maybe?) text for all of the subtitles, making it nearly impossible to read a good 1/3rd of the text. There was a lot of buildup in the plot that ended up just falling flat at the very end of the film as well.

Anyway, that's all for now. More later this week. ♥
