If there was any justice in the world...

Amazon.com would have the following two features:

First off, they would provide the email addresses of all reviewers so I can harrass the ones who post opinions with which I don't agree.

Second, they would provide the real addresses of all reviewers so I can stalk and kill the ones who post opinions with which I don't agree.

Okay, I'm being dramatic, but SERIOUSLY. People have the most inane opinions sometimes! And some of them are downright confusing.

Examples from people reviewing Light in the Piazza (when I get bored I go on Amazon.com and read reviews of things I like... ... ...):

No Light-, December 9, 2005

In comparsion to some other Broadway shows I suppose this musical might stand out but, that speaks for itself- this Broadway season has been rather BORING... The score is good reminding me of a young Andrew Lyodd Webber but, not enough to save this musical from over-dramatization, over the top performances, and boring lyrics. All in all if your looking for a romantic musical I'd consider buying "Phantom of the Opera" and forget about this diaster.

Huh? How is Adam Guettel in any way EVER reminiscent of Mr. Andrew Lyodd Webber? How is Light in the Piazza even slightly familiar to that show?

And then there's the COMPLETELY confusing Broadway123.

Barely A Disapointment, December 21, 2005

I had heard that this CD was very good, so I was very eager and excited about getting it. When I first listened to it, it kinda reminded me of shows like Phantom Of The Opera and Les Miserables, except the songs in those shows had more variety. All the songs kind of blended together and the style is almost operretta. However, the music is quite beautiful/peaceful and nice to listen to as "background music" almost.

HUH!? I DON'T GET IT! Even if I was 13 years old and completely stupid, having been lobotomized by my cruel and efficient parents early on in some kind of sadistic experiment (trust me, I know this about Broadway123) I would be able to tell that Light in the Piazza does NOT sound Les Miserables.

Also, I would venture to point out that Andrew Lloyd Webber is infamous for/these two shows in particular obviously are extremely repetitive. They are scores where five melodies are repeated over and over in random order.

Yet more proof that the undeveloped ear and slow mind interprets diversity as sameness. If the difference isn't between Seventy Six Trombones and If I Loved You... ugh.

But then there's the HORRIFYING:
Forgetable, January 23, 2006

A very forgetable Broadway show. No harmony in the music, music appears to be out of sync with lyrics which alone cannot carry the show.

HUH? No harmony in the music? HUH!? Do you know what music IS, Vern D. Weller SR!?

Idjuts.

I know I have friends on here who don't like Light in the Piazza. Frankly, I just think you don't get it. I remain here, wrapped so neatly in my precocious snobbery.
