New writing community!!
Alright, lovelies: listen in, and listen up!
It's come to my attention, either through conversations with you or your own LJ posts, that quite a few of us would like an opportunity to do more writing. There are plenty of challenge communities out there, but everyone's busy these days; who has time for a regular commitment?
After talking with megu this afternoon, I've decided to go ahead and create the writing community I've always wanted to. And so, I bring you ~ scrawlology!
scrawlology is a low-pressure writing community aimed at motivating busy people who like to write into sharing their work in a friendly, supportive environment. Here's how it works: members are encouraged to post a sample of their work once a week. Anything is acceptable, including works-in-progress, though if you need an extra dose of inspiration, we'll also be posting a prompt per week. Prompts can come in the form of quotes, songs, pictures, or anything else that inspires; any member can suggest a prompt at any time.
I'm very much open to ideas and suggestions, so please let me know what you think! The goal here is just to keep writing, and to receive constructive feedback on your work from a supportive community of fellow authors. Feel free to invite your friends; the more, the merrier!
