Thanks to everyone who answered my question yesterday. ♥ I'm excited by the mass willingness to take a leap of faith for your fiction ... and I woke up this morning screaming, "YES! THAT!!" because I'd finally worked out the last confusing bit of plot mess for Anamnesis, and I am so excited for this, you have no idea. Hopefully by the fall I'll have something substantial to nervously show everyone. I thought I'd been trying to cram too many story elements into the plot, and was struggling to weed through them all afternoon yesterday. Then I had a dream which showed me how to link them all together, and oh how I wish I had somewhere quiet to work right now ... *sighs* Screaming kids downstairs, angry biting cat in my bedroom upstairs. I'm sitting in a chair in Dan's room at the moment, wondering if he's going to kick me out when he gets home. :/
Oh well, I'm really supposed to be studying Latin and/or working on
help_japan fics right now, anyway.
On an unrelated note, does anyone want to give me a quick cook's tour of cyberpunk? I'm feeling ADD and curious about it this morning. (The history lover in me will always prefer Steampunk to everything else, I feel, but I've always liked speculative future pieces, too.) I saw this picture [

... Also, people on tumblr have been recommending Steampunk novels to me, but my instinct is to stay away from anything written by others until Anamnesis is finished. Does that seem smart, or would it be better to do some research into what other people have come up with? I can't decide. I love being inspired by other people's creations, but I hate having my own ideas muddled and convoluted by things I didn't come up with myself. Writers out there! Any thoughts on this?
