White House Correspondance Dinner...
I'm going to gloss over what Wanda Sykes said. Honestly...classless and moronic as it was, it was (in theory) said as a joke. But let's just leave it as classless and moronic. What I am going to point out is something President Barack Obama said.
First, let me preface this with something we all remember from a couple of weeks ago...the videos of people running in the streets and really freaking out over a 747 and a couple of military jets flying over Manhattan. Now, it's all fine and good that Caldera resigned...personally, I wonder if he was "forced" out...from what I've heard of his Military record, this seems a bit trumped up. But, that's just a bit too conspiracy-y to me. But I digress. There were numerous reports from unnamed sources who said that President Obama was furious over this stunt and it took a full day for the President to come on TV to publically announce how "furious" he was.
Well...it seems his "fury" was short lived. While people were justifiably upset over it, especially after finding out it cost the tax payers over $328,000...this is what President Obama said at the WHCD...as a joke, "Now Sasha and Malia aren’t here tonight because they’re grounded. You can’t just take Air Force One on a joy ride to Manhattan. I don’t care whose kids you are. We’ve been setting some ground rules here. They’re starting to get a little carried away."
