I've come to realise

I've re-discovered the pleasure of settling down with a hot mug of tea.

So much TV nowadays is complete and utter rubbish. For some reason, a lot of the American comedies drive me mad, though I did use to like them before...

I miss friends in Sydney, both the ones I know well, as well as the ones I don't know so well.

on the other hand, i have discovered the pleasure of a glass of rum under my duvet.

wild mad summer days are always imprinted more burningly in our mind, and the scars ache to break free especially in cold wintry nights when we are bored shitless.

Correct.

But I also would love to see my niece and make her laugh and play all sorts of childish games, doing stupid things that you really can't do in front of grown ups but which children love so.

Like peekaboo.

(And then when I'm tired, I can just hand her back to my Tua Soh :D)

the pleasure of irresponsible parenting :P you are freed from the hassle of bringing up a child and partake only in the fun bit ;)

Aye, tis true. Irresponsible parenting is right.

On the bright side, at least there's a responsible parent to hand the little ones back too when I get bored/tired.

Though that's not very often, I must say...

and does it spur you into a fantasy of parenthood in the near / not so near future?

Lemme get my house in order first.

Graduate, start working.

Then think about things like this.

I am not so good at multitasking to be able to sort it all out at the same time.

multitasking the future is like juggling four and a half imaginary balls in the air. as simple as you want it to be.
