I'M WORKING SOON!
Kripes, it took long enough. Spoke to the man in charge at the union, he gave me the number of a guy in charge of reworking this building, I called that guy, and I'm meeting him tomorrow. Not so much for an interview, but to discuss what I'll be doing. He explained that I'll get a lot of experience from the job, replacing some 800 windows (with help, I assume), working with boilers and coolers, etc. It's a temporary job, but it'll last me some four months. After that, the man at the union said he'll see about finding me some permanent work.
This is especially good because it'll be a big help for my LJ friend saturnsdaughter, since she needs shelter within the end of September and we need to split the rent between just the two of us. What's more, I have two $50 parking tickets I gotta pay off, I need to replace the power tubes in my amp (some $30 for the two tubes, and another $100 for the service), and I'd like to replace the antenna for my XM car adapter. Oh yeah, and then there's all those DVDs and guitar-related things I want to buy.
But yeah, things are finally looking up in my world.
Now I have to hope that my other friends, LJ related and otherwise, will find stability in their lives.
