I just got back from... Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. And, it was FREAKING AMAZING!!!

I mean, kripes. The first act was Yonder Mountain Band or something along those lines. They had banjo, guitar, mandolin, and upright bass. When they were on their last tune, Keller Williams came out and joined in the tune, and members of the first band left one by one, gradually thinning out the sound. And Keller was an AMAZING artist! He was by himself and had a sampler setup in a rack. And he had a bass on a stand and a guitar with MIDI on another and he was basically recording four or five second loops and then adding the other instruments on them. He faked percussion with his mouth, and it was done with much more finesse than Michael Winslow. And Bela Fleck and his band came on just as gradually, and Victor Wooten is one HELL of a bass player.

I'll say it again: Victor Wooten is one HELL of a bass player. I mean, Les Claypool is so CONVENTIONAL compared to him.

Yeah, good times...
