On a lighter note ... birds ...
I need about 15 more thistle feeders. They are going at one another worse than folks on Judge Judy go at one another. (Yes, I confess to occasionally watching Judge Judy.)
The other day, when I was still car-less, I went to this hoity-toity bird-watching/-feeding shop that was within walking distance. I got just over five pounds of thistle at the not-cheap price of about $12. Two bucks a pound for thistle?! Five pounds of thistle doesn't feed these finches for long. Seriously, I wonder why I have so many more birds this year. They are great fun to watch. I love them to death. But why are there so many more than in years past? (And why don't they drop a few bucks off at my window sill for the cost of their feed.)
