Trinket and junket box

As you probably don't recall, during El's and my road trip to Vermont, I'll be on a hunt for trinkets and junkets to make a trinket and junket box. Yesterday, I promised a photo of the trinket and junket box I already own. Here she is in a small photo. (She's very dusty. Trinket and junket boxes are not easy to keep clean!)

Isn't it?! The sides are decorated, too. And to think it's made of stuff I've thrown away for years. heh

No, I didn't. I'm going to attempt a knock-off, which I normally wouldn't do with someone's art (unless it looked easy-peasy or generic), but, in this case, the artist has surely passed away. (I got it about 20-25 years ago from my friend's great-grandmother. She wrote the cutest note along with it. I'll have to dig it out and share it.)

oh, i have been making these for some time .....sort of. i should send you pictures. i make trinket boxes and jewelry boxes. mixed media and mosaic. i have meant to add them to my site but i am lazy.

i have a tiny, glow-in-the-dark plastic baby jesus that i found in my parking lot next to the dumpster. he wouldn't really, uh, fit with that sort of motif though :P
