Don't be hurt...
I saw someone on TV saying that people who are against universal health care are being hurtful. Let's just say I took that personally. It hurt my feelings. Of course, I know that no one on here is hurt by my views. We've had some ripe barneys (fights in British talk) on here, but we all walk away friends. We can disagree and be friends. So, once again, this is directed to no one on here. More to people in general who accuse people like me of being hurtful.
First off, there is a myth that all people who are against it are rich people. I am someone who is against universal government health insurance. Am I rich? Far from it. My wife and I struggle to make ends meet. We have a daughter. We have a small home and two cars that aren't exactly Mercedes-Benz's. Universal health care coverage from the government would increase the costs we have to pay in taxes and in premiums. We would also LOSE our health care plan that we have with our employer. Anyone want to see my beautiful daughter suffer because we have to wait a year for her to have surgery, if she, God forbid, needs it someday?
Also, I care greatly about the poor. That is why I give to my church. The church does much to help the poor in my area. I volunteer when I am able.
There is another huge reason too... http://www.usdebtclock.org/ . Do we want America to be like the Weimar Republic (Germany pre-Hitler)? You know, that place where people used money as wallpaper because it was worth chicken feed? Read about inflation, my friends!
All this stuff costs money, and all of that is debt on our heads and our children's heads. Lily owes a debt of $110,000 already and she doesn't even pay taxes yet! She's 20 months old!
Speaking of Germany, the right to life is not protected. Death panels are not a myth, they are real. Read the legislation. And the holocaust of abortion has killed 47 million and counting. It all makes Hitler look like a pussycat.
No wonder people in Canada rave! If you wait a year for surgery it had better be good! For that long a wait they should feed you lobster and caviar in your hospital room. Well, at least you can laugh at Bob & Doug Mackenzie or watch hockey on CBC while your leg turns gangrene. Canada can keep their health care.
Anyway, please do not be hurt by my political views. They are held for a reason...not because of any politician or special interest group. I basically follow the teachings of my religious faith. While they preach charity and help, they do not preach government take-over. Read the enyclicals I posted the other day.
