Working for free...because the Governor won't pay us.

Have you ever worked at a job (which is not volunteer) and not gotten paid for it?
Well, that has been the case for the last few days because our wonderful Governor, who will not agree to a state budget which would cut state spending that the state Senate has proposed. So, due to the fact that we do not have a budget by the Federally mandated deadline, state government employees like Keith, Andrea and myself are by and large working for free.
So, there are 79,000 employees in the state who are not getting paid, who can't pay their bills, who can't feed their kids...and it is all the Governor's fault.
He said earlier this week that we should "build statues to him" because he reached a deal with banks to extend low interest loans to employees. Sorry, guv, thou shalt not build any graven image, especially to you.
PA is not the only state having problems. New York, New Jersey, California...almost every state is having problems with budget shortfalls. They all have the same proposal to end it: raise taxes.
No! I say to all the Dems and GOP's in the state governments...live within your means like we do! Cut waste and reduce taxes! Be more like Texas, who's state economy is booming. Rick Perry is the man.
I'm joining the Libertarian party. The Constitution party is way too unorganized to be a serious threat to the system. While I may not be in lockstep with the Libertarian party's social platform, I totally agree with their fiscal platform.
But anyway, I hope we get paid soon. We have a child, a house and many bills. We can't default. I don't want us to get thrown out in the street.
I know...maybe I can raise money for state workers and prove to liberal wimps that waterboarding isn't torture at the same time...I'll volunteer to be waterboarded to raise money for state workers...how hard can that be...it will be like swimming.
