God loves good people. Isn't that what we're taught? Well, some of us. But it's bullshit. Why is it bullshit, you ask? It's bullshit because it is not what the Bible teaches, it's not what Christ taught (and teaches). First, the Bible teaches that there simply aren't any good people (Romans 3:23), except those who become good by the faith in the Son of God through the grace of God (Romans 3:22, 24, 25). The Bible is clear that God loved us when we were all sinners, lost, and enemies of God (Romans 5:8). When we hated Him, He loved us, and sent His Son to die on a cross for our sins, to purchase us back from sin, addiction, emptiness, hopelessness, foolishness and hatred each one of us who believes in Him (1 Cor 6:20, 7:23), and to give us eternal life with our Father in Heaven (John 3:14-21) and life here on earth to the full (John 10:10).

It's a good thing that salvation doesn't depend on what we do and don't do for God, because if it did, I would be damned. And so would everyone else on the planet.

Life for yourself sucks, so die to yourself and begin living for God. Because that doesn't suck.

And another good thing: God loves me even though I'm mediocre and can't present Him to others properly.
