it was soooo good. my parents brought me, patrick, elise, and michael. that was the first time i went to new orleans since katrina. pretty much every house was messed up and a lot of buildings. the house of blues was really cool because i had never been there, and it's like really small. so we were like about 5 feet from the stage. whenever we were going in the security guard looked through my purse and wouldn't let me take my camera inside so i didn't get any pictures til after. :[
athlete was the opening band, and they were like, amazing. then switchfoot came out and played 18 songs, and they were soooo good. they didn't play learning to breathe though or any songs from the first 3 cds. but they were really good anyway. it was chad's birthday so we sang happy birthday to him. and after the concert, jon and tim carried him off the stage on their shoulders. and they played a new song that was really really really good. it's called Awakening or Awaking. and jon's pants were unzipped the whole concert.
then after the concert we were waiting outside with like 200 other people, and jon came out of the bus after about 30 minutes. it was weird because at ruston there were only like 10-15 people waiting, but there was sooo many people this time. but jon was out there for like an hour or so and signed autographs and took pictures for like every person out there. i don't know if the rest of the band members came out because we left after that. but we went eat beignets(sp?) and drove back past the place when we were done, and it was after midnight and people were still waiting. the concert ended before 10. and it was freezing out there.
here's pictures i took after the concert:
um, you can kind of see jon lol.
he had to go get his hat.
lol i was way too close but there was a bunch of people behind me.
i had to take a picture of the little drums.
