re: duke lacrosse case
I'm tired of all these Duke Lacrosse players bullshit lies. They only offered DNA evidence, because they thought (correctly, it seems) that there would be no DNA left to match to them. If they really wanted to clear their names, they could have offered to take lie detector (polygraph) tests, which are highly accurate.
They are looking for a way to get off, and because they have money and the 'machine' is geared to help them, all the resources, like constant surveilance of phones and what is spoken, isn't being used to determine if they're guilty or not - they're looking the other way. This is OJ type bullshit. What kind of justice is their in the states? The tobacco/cigarette industry may be losing money in north america, so they are going to the third world to get people addicted, doing better than ever. Why aren't we stepping in and saying this is wrong, you will pay for it? Everyone knows it's wrong now. But it just goes on and on. 'Replacement smokers' means children, since most older smokers don't go back to it - they know better. We are sick as a society - and partly, it is because of who we follow as leaders, and what is necessary to become a leader in our societies.
