err what am i talking about?

I think I disagree with democracy in that it means 'what is best for the majority is what is best'
But I also disagree that what is best for the minority is best.

I think it needs to be something like 'what is best for all, that includes the needs of individuals, but not at the expense of the whole or others in general.' So, if ye harm none, then let it be done. Or whatever. The point being the majority isn't always right, but it's generally more right than always doing what is in the best interest of a few. It's possible for a very few people to be right, and the majority to be wrong, but majority rules says if most people agree, than that is what is best... so maybe, in real democracy, that is why 'propaganda' and 'consensus building' are important. Now if only we could replace 'propaganda' with 'really educate and motivate people to care about important issues, so that the whole of society could -mostly- make good decisions...' (instead of running around like the farmer and the headless chicken...)
