So school has officially started and o boy is it going to be intense.
American Folklife and folk art: Probably my easiest class of the semester but still a crap load of reading and papers such. Each week usually consists of reading around 200 pages.
Flexible Design Studio1: One of my graphic design classes where we have real graphic designers assigning us real jobs. This class is going to be lots of fun but intense i think. Lots of quick turn arounds.
Graphic design 3: Another graphic design class where we will be learning flash. So far, this class is very easy but that will quickly change...once we actually start using flash.
Exhibition development and curatorial: This class is a 2 year commitment, basically a commitment for the rest of my college years. In this class, we're going to be researching, designing and putting up a show of the history of slavery in the state of maryland in 2 museums. One in the brand spanking new Reginald Lewis Museum in the Inner Harbor and another in the very old, Maryland Historical Society Museum. I've heard stories of girls losing massive amounts of weight from doing this class cause it requires a lot of physical work but that's probably an exaggeration. Nevertheless, I am sooo excited and grateful to be in this class. I'm hoping to get some really awesome portfolio pieces out of this class, a good recommendation, and something to put down on my resume.
The Book Theory: This is going to be another fun class but I have a feeling I will be falling asleep...quite a lot in this class. Lots of looking at artists book via slides a.k.a. sitting in the dark for 2 hours and 45 minutes after working all morning. Hopefully my roommate gloria will keep me awake since she's in this class as well.
Interactive Media I: Another intense class that is a requirement for graphic designers. I get to learn how to do action scripting, html coding, flash stuff, and other computer geeky stuff that I have no idea how to do just yet. Hopefully the computer geeks will stop being geeking in this class or else I might just have to strangle them. LoL.
Anyways, this weekend was fun. Met up with Jordan on friday, grabbed some dinner at this tapas restauarant and finallly watched March of the Penquins. SUCH A CUTE DOCUMENTARY. Saturday was a waste and today is slowly becoming another wasteful day but Mike is coming over soon to install cs2 on my mac. Yay for cool people who like to share programs with other people who cannot afford expensive programs. Oh and I can't wait til winter break. My friend, Kyu is going to teach me how to ride a bicycle. hehehe I made him promise me but there's one little problem....neither one of us has a bicycle. haha.
