So I had dinner yesterday, well, wednesday, with this crazy amazing person named Htar Htar. She grew up in a refugee camp/the jungle in Burma. She speaks to her parents maybe twice a month. They are in Thailand, but are there illegally, so are constantly getting arrested. She didn't start going to school until she started the 4th grade. She had never touched a computer before coming to the states. She went to highschool in Vermont as an exchange student. She lost three siblings when she was 4, 7, and 10. She was one of eight. She owned maybe three shirts at a time. Ans she cried and was touched by the struggle (that's so much smaller in comparison to hers) that I am going through with my mother. She offered to buy my books next fall, because she's here on full scholarship and gets money back. I can't believe that she wants to help me when she has been through so much more. She so selfless.
Today I basically told somebody I liked them. I don't think I've ever done that before. Go me...this supposedly takes guts. I'm not too phased by it though. I'm kind of just wishing it will go somewhere, but thinking it won't. And I guess I'm ok with that too.
Everybody's leaving this weekend. double u, tee eff.
