Story Summary: Ten visits Jack in a different time and a different place and finds that Jack's settled down and had a family. What questions will the Doctor have for Jack?
The Doctor sat bouncing the baby on his knee. It gurgled appreciatively and the Time Lord cooed in response.
“Never really been much for babies myself. Too messy, and not great on conversation. But this one…he’s quite handsome.”
Jack chuckled in response, “I’m glad you approve. It’s all because of you, you know.”
“Me?” the Doctor asked incredulously.
“You introduced us,” explained Jack.
“I did?” the Doctor shook his head in confusion, searching his considerable memory trying to remember introducing Jack to the lovely alien being sitting next to him. He looked at the blue tinted face, fair hair and sparkling eyes. “I think I’d remember that Jack. He really is quite unforgettable.”
Jack’s partner, Keenan, smiled and winked a luminous, sparkling eye at the Doctor. “It was not you, exactly, Doctor,” he said in a musical voice that the Doctor found almost hypnotizing. He could certainly see why Jack was so taken with the man.
“It was another version of you,” Keenan went on, glancing down at the Doctor’s pinstriped suit, “You wore a bow tie, and your hair was a bit wild.”
The Doctor ran a hand through his spiky brown hair, “Wilder than this?”
Jack laughed, “I think this is classified information, Doctor. Wouldn’t want to give you any spoilers. I know how you feel about that.”
The baby on his knee laughed in that musical, trilling style of the people of this planet. The Doctor bounced him again and ruffled his hair. He really was a handsome baby, and despite the blue tint to his skin he did look quite a bit like Jack.
Suddenly the Doctor looked up, an intense look in his large brown eyes, “Just tell me one thing Jack. No spoilers, just one thing.”
“Ok, what do you want to know.”
“Was I ginger?”
