“Jack, there’s no way across,” Gwen shook her head and shivered, staring at the snow covered boat.
“There has to be, Ianto needs me.”
“It’s frozen, the boat won’t work. We can’t do it.”
Jack turned on her with fury and desperation in his eyes, “Ianto is out there Gwen. He’s alone, cold, hungry, maybe dying…I can’t leave him like that. I can’t give up on him.”
Gwen put her hand on his shoulder to calm him, “I know, I know. He’ll hold on as long as he can, Jack. He’s strong. We’ll find another way to get to him.”

He’d made reservations at the nicest restaurant in Cardiff. Ianto supposed the food was alright, but he preferred pizza.
Jack sat across from him, smiling at him, feeding him bites from his own plate.
They laughed and talked like a real couple. He almost forgot about Torchwood.
Musicians appeared, singing their song only for them, for the lovers that they were tonight. Ianto let the song wash over him. He listened to the music and looked deep into Jack‘s fathomless eyes. He couldn’t see forever, only the moment. But in the midst of the minstrel’s song this moment was enough.
