It is possible to have two different versions here at the same time. There were two Kamuis, and they looked exactly alike! but... they had really different pasts. So it is possible, just really unusual.

I would note that the pieces of bone on the Arrancar tend to be skull pieces -- though not necessarily human, and in fact, more often than not are not -- and tend to be on the head.
