So I did something supremely silly, but supremely satisfying today.
I went to the library. Well, ok, I admit it, I went to three libraries.
I started at the main one - took some books back, and I was specifically looking for the rest of the Maximum Ride series. I even checked online first to make sure they had them in at that particular library before I went.
Welllll, anyone who knows me will tell you, it is nearly physically impossible for me to exit a library with less than a stack of books. Therefore I got a weeeeee bit distracted in the YA section. This led (eventually) to me hunting down some of the Scott Westerfeld books I haven't read, which unfortunately, were in at other libraries (not that far away), but not the library I was currently visiting.
Then I figured, what the heck. They're close by, they're both basically on the way home, and I KNOW they have the books in.
So, here is the (ridiculous) list of books I ended up bringing home:
- Maximum Ride: School's Out-Forever - James Patterson
- Maximum Ride: Saving the World & Other Extreme Sports - James Patterson
- Maximum Ride: Final Warning - James Patterson
- Pretties - Scott Westerfeld (soooo excited)
- Specials - Scott Westerfeld
- So Yesterday - Scott Westerfeld
- The Last Days - Scott Westerfeld (soooo excited)
- Bound - Donna Jo Napoli
- Hush - Donna Jo Napoli
- Queen Bee - Chynna Clugston (as in Blue Monday Chynna Clugston! I didn't even know this existed, so I'm really excited!)
- In the Small - Michael Hague (a graphic novel by the guy who used to do all the unicorn calendars I got as a kid!)
- Montmorency: doctor, aristocrat, murderer? - Eleanor Updale (sequel to one I read a while back)
- Book of a Thousand Days - Shannon Hale (ahhh, continuing the Shannon Hale kick)
- Circle of Magic: Shandry's Book - Tamora Pierce
- Tweak - Nic Sheff
- Angus, Thongs & Full-Frontal Snogging - Louise Rennison (D should be excited that I'm starting these finally)
(edit: one down!)
So, yeah. Insane.
The challenge is, will I manage to get all these read before they are due? Really, I figure I will have to renew some of them but the TRUE goal is to remember to do so, and not have to pay any fines. :p
I am soooo excited about most of these that it's hard to know where to start! I also have to read the following soon:
- Cradle and All - James Patterson
- The Black Moth - Georgette Heyer
- Three Cups of Tea - Greg Mortenson
So, we'll see. :D
