Drained batteries

I am tired to the point where I could lay my head down right now and be asleep in ten seconds. This is not good.

Also, yesterday, I went to the post office to mail a package to Bryon. When I exited the post office, returned to my car and put the key in the ignition, I turned it and nothing happened. Well, more precisely, a few of the dash lights came on, but the starter didn't even attempt to turn over. After many, many tries, I called my dad, and he came over and jumped the car (thank goodness - I'm so grateful). That got us as far as Firestone, where the car was dead again as soon as I turned it off. They had to jump it to get it from the parking spot into the bay.

It was the battery. I guess it was right about on schedule, considering I've had the car for 6 years, it's a 7 year old car, and this is the first time I've had to replace it. Fortunately that was also the cheapest result of this scenario; if they'd had to delve in deeper to the electrical issues it would have gotten REALLY expensive.

I swear, I'm tempted to leave $1.00 on my Firestone card at all times, because it just seems like every time I get the thing all paid off, something goes wrong with one vehicle or the other. ==; This particular incident, however, could have been WAY worse, financially, and I'm grateful that it's not.

We are also having problems with the heat at the apartment. Twice so far-once late Saturday night and then sometime last night-the heat has shut off. Something is getting tripped in the furnace but we don't know what. Every time it happens I have to call the landlady, who calls the repair guy, and the landlady gets billed for it. So I think it shall hopefully get fixed really fast because as she has put it, this used to happen to the people before us too, and she's getting kind of irate with the fixit guy because she's paid practically enough in repair bills to buy a new furnace. MAN, does it get cold in here when this happens.

I spent three hours yesterday visiting with the nephews and Bryon's family, and fixing/setting up their computer. I got it all taken care of, except that the printer is not installed because I couldn't find the CD. Normally I'd just download the drivers but they are on very slow dialup and I wasn't about to even attempt it. I think I will just download them at my house and burn them a CD.

Bryon is doing well, except that he's out on missions quite frequently now so I don't hear from him as much. I am grateful for every single message I get, because I know that eventually their communication will be REALLY restricted.

I am SO EXCITED to be heading down there in a week and two days! Actually, it's a week from tomorrow that I will be leaving - late at night on the 20th is the plan. :D :D :D

Oh, and congrats to the Stiner Bean on making her first sushi!! :D :D It sounds good.
