Yesterday the village of Caen celebrated Mardi Gras. It wasn't Mardi Gras. It wasn't even Tuesday. But whatever. In France, we do what we want. Carnaval is like Halloween, but it's more for teens and university students than children. Everyone dresses up, and the university students and high schoolers have a costume parade throughout the entire city. This year many events were canceled on account of the uncertain student strike situation (things could become dangerous, I suppose). I hate going out on Thursday nights because of how obnoxious it is, but Carnaval in France is a rare event for an American, and Emilie lent me a pair of fairy wings. I was pretty proud of my fairy makeup, I must say... so there's a picture of it
under the cut.
You can't see it very well, but if a better picture of it surfaces I'll post it.
I can't believe spring break is tomorrow. So much to get done, but I just want to curl up into a little ball and sleep!
