Home! Kansas! Finally!
It's so good to be home! I picked Dad up at the airport at 2:00 and after tons of trail mix, Whoppers, a trip to Steak & Shake, and a million hours on the road, we made it home by 11:30. I was so glad that he flew all the way to Kentucky just to help me drive home, because I don't know if I could have stood that long of a drive by myself. Mom, Laura, and Taffy greeted us at the door (Maribeth is on a retreat), and there was a chocolate chip cheesecake and a wedge of Brie in the fridge to welcome me home. I'm going to ask if we can make fried Brie wontons. Yum...
My parents redecorated my bedroom and put a new sink and counter in my bathroom and made it all look so nice for me. My bed was so comfortable, and even more comfortable with my darling puppy sleeping on it with me!
Now, my parents are taking out the recycling and I'm just lounging around watching TV and waiting for my order from Zappos to arrive. They upgraded me to free overnight shipping so it should be here any minute, and I ordered it yesterday at around 1:00. How awesome is that? I got a pair of knee-high brown leather boots and black flats for France. I would rather have black leather boots, I think, but brown matches much more of my wardrobe and is probably a better color on me anyway. The styles the brands I wanted to buy from didn't have any cute boots in black.
