And what of those who are fully aware of our surroundings, both global and domestic, yet see that we are better off now than we would be (if Kerry and Edwards were to be elected) four years from now?
"Fair and balanced my ass. If we have such a "liberal media," where's all the negative war news? If it weren't for the debates, most people would think Iraq is a happy little place like the fictional town in the Truman Show."
Really? Every newspaper I have looked at since the fall of Baghdad, aside from the Wall Street Journal, has shown mutilated bodies, war protestors, questions of WMDs, militants with guns, etc. Let's look at headlines:
"JUDGING THE BOUT Sorry, Mr. Prez, it is the wrong war (New York Daily News; Oct 3, 2004)" "A Dishonest War (The Washington Post; Jan 18, 2004)" "IRAQ WAR'S ALSO KILLING U.S. PRIDE (New York Daily News; Oct 3, 2004)" "Report: U.S. supplied the kinds of germs Iraq later used for biological weapons (USA Today; Sept 30, 2002)" "PLEASE SAVE ME! CAGED BRITISH HOSTAGE WAILS: 'TONY BLAIR LYING & DOESN'T CARE' (New York Daily News; Sep 30, 2004)" "Day's Death Toll For U.S. Troops Is Highest Since March (The Washington Post; Nov 3, 2003)" "Iraq Car Bombs Kill 41 (Naseer Al-Nahr; March 19, 2003)"
Now, I'm not entirely certain if you *saw* The Truman Show, but I've watched it a few times. I can't recall the town's events ever being depicted that way. Maybe that was a cut scene or something. I guess it'll be on the Special Edition DVD.
Considering you are indeed in Iraq yourself, I'm sure you have an omnipotent understanding aside from what you are told. Therefore, everyone should take heed to how you interpret the situation through your basic sources over everyone else. Why is it that majority of military personnel are Bush supporters? I wonder.
How about the network news every night? They share liberal propaganda constantly *which has been proven false, thanks to Dan Rather.*
As for the Debate bringing clarity, I say this: statistics were warped, completely throwing aside allies who have also made sacrifices, especially the Iraqis themselves. The reason they were left out by the good Senators is twofold. They don't want to show that the US has only a fraction of the percentage of casualties they gave, as well as the fact they want us to look alone. I think the Debate only brought more haze to the issue in the eyes of the public.
"If this administration brought us tax cuts, why the hell have my taxes steadily increased over the past four years? Why has my tuition raised thousands of dollars in the past three years?"
Because Universities can do whatever they want. They would raise prices every year anyway. Plus, God hates you. He told me so. :-p
"Why is it OK for Cheney to say electing Kerry will make a terrorist hit on American soil more likely? Why do people admire Bush's "sincerity" when his most sincere moments in the debate were saying "It's a tough job," or "I had to make tough decisions," and whiny crap like that?"
Well, quite frankly, I've explained that one in the past. Bush was sincere in the segment where he discussed the widow and her child. (Meanwhile, Kerry was remembering when he burned down huts with families himself, I'm sure.) And I'm certain that if you had been president during and after 9/11, you wouldn't say you've had a tough job?
"Who actually thinks we're BETTER OFF THAN WE WERE FOUR YEARS AGO?"
Perhaps not, but I know we're better off than we will be in four years from now if your boys win.
