i'm actually really glad to have moved away from home. for those of you who still check this website and who haven't heard, i drove across the country and live near and work in washington dc right now. it was a brutal drive. i shattered my rear windshield in oklahoma city and had to pay 250 bucks to get it replaced. brutal. i arrived on a thursday, and then snowpocolypse hit that friday. i've never felt so much like a fish out of water. it's hard to settle in a new place anyway, but being snowbound and not being able to get out of the house for a week made it worse. i couldn't start work until a week after i arrived.
the point is, while i miss california and all my friends a lot, i was looking forward to leaving and am happy to have left.
