dearest californians and fellow voters,
while i'm excited about the high speed train prop that looks like it's gonna pass (right now anyway), and i'm thrilled for the chickens in prop 2 or whatever it is, and i'm sort of ambivalent about prop 8 (sorry dudes, i voted no on it but i can't say i think "marriage" is anything that should be defined by governments, gay or otherwise), i have to say i am happy about president hussein, who i did in fact vote for. it's good to see people actually focus on real issues, like, uh, the economy, and, i don't know, energy policy, instead of people focusing on the government telling certain groups of people what they can and can't do, like who can marry who and telling a lady she can't suck or scrape (or whatever they actually do) a fetus out of her vag.

but still, i have to say, this whole "change" thing is bullshit. i know it's ten years later and president derka-derka will hold more of a mandate than billy j. clinton did when he came into office with control of both houses, but i really don't see anything major happening in the next few years. i think hil-dogg might have been able to squeeze through a universal health care package in a term due to her ugly bitchslap on the issue 14 years ago during bill's first term (one of the reasons i supported her in the primaries), but i don't think president hussein has the experience for such a contentious issue. i also don't think we'll be leaving the 'raq soon. i also also don't think raising taxes on anyone at this exact moment in time is a great idea, although bush's tax cuts are ridiculous and need to be fixed. but don't let that distract you. keep thinking that all of a sudden everyone of all races cultures ethnicities and religions will magically get along now because a black dude is president(they won't), and jerk off to the thought that suddenly the world is gonna love and look up to the U.S. again (they won't, and who gives a fuck, their hate is delicious to me), and fall asleep to dream that barack obama shits sunshine and pukes rainbows (he's not jesus. he's not even william wallace. come on.) i just hope you're not disappointed when hardly anything big happens and the naivete of this "yes we can" and "hope" crap wears off, and i hope you still decide to vote next time too.

the only change i see happening as a result of this election is within the GOP. youth and the latino vote won this election. and as more latinos consistantly change the demographic spread in many many many states across the entire country (i'm telling you, in 4-8 years, georgia is gonna be a big battleground state) and continue popping out babies at almost unheard of rates (watch monty python's "every sperm is sacred" sketch for the details), the republican party has a hell of a lot of soul searching to do. they've pegged themselves as solely a white, rural, "real america" party, and they ate shit for it today, very much to my happiness and deservedly so. old farts and middle of nowhere dwellers, you really really fucked up the past 8 years and it's gonna be my generation that has to pay for it. republicans will have to change this focus if they want to compete in the future. and real competition can only be good for everyone who cares about issues instead of fads.
