Pony website axed after 'evil' game link revealed

Sega has been forced to take down a child-themed website promoting a violent video game after toy maker Hasbro complained that one of the game's promotional characters bore a striking resemblance to its character My Little Pony, a children' favourite.

It just comes across as creepy to me. Though I could almost understand the "it's not my demographic" comment...come on. My Little Pony was everywhere. I know it was all over TV during it's second (less successful) go-round in the early 90s for sure, and some people I know still have nightmares (no pun intended) about their sugary sweet faces. Them, and Polly Pocket and the care bears. How could it not occur to you that that little icon looks strangely familiar?

oh yeah, it's sort of like casually forgetting that stonewashed, pleated, elastic-waist denim pants were popular in the 1980s.

I think in reality he didn't expect the MLP ppl to see it, and for no one who did to care enough to tell on them. 'Cause not a lot of ppl play videogames, you know, only ppl of a nerdy loner white-boy type who never saw MLP. That's all.
