The door opens with a barely audible creak, the soft whisper of clothing carrying over the threshold.
Soft feet pad across the floor to the bedside, quiet and reverent.
Skin, pale as snow, lips red as an apple. Hair spun sun gold splayed over a pillow.
Careful, he settles himself along the bed and then over, reaching out to push a wayward lock out of perfection’s face. His finger traces high cheekbones, bow lips, and down over defined collar bones.
His fingers flutter up, butterfly wing light, to caress the soft skin of his neck, curl around it, worship it.
Squeeze.
Beauty gasps, lungs struggling to draw in more air. He squeezes tighter.
Limbs begin to thrash, pale skin white as snow turning blue.
He feels the pulse stutter beneath his fingers and lets go, leaning down to seal those purple lips with a kiss.
Key’s eyes fly open in the dark, hazy and confused and still a little afraid after that familiar nightmare. Brown eyes smile back.
“T-Taeminnie?”
“Good morning, Sleeping Beauty.”
