It's amazing what you can get used to when you don't have a choice. This is what Sungmin has concluded, after six years. Because there isn't a choice, not really, not for him. Maybe for Hankyung, who had a whole alter ego lurking just below the surface and just out of sight, a doppelganger with a smoother tongue and a surer smile, someone that Sungmin never met but has seen on TV. If nothing else he learned a lesson; he will never trust anyone in a foreign language again, because so much can be hidden in words that are not your own, and some things just cannot be translated.
But Sungmin doesn't have that choice. He has a lot of half-nurtured talents, plenty of interests, but nowhere to go. He knows, intellectually, that there was a time in his life before Super Junior, before Kyuhyun, but those times are like someone else's memories, someone else's summer vacation pictures. Still, he can coexist with Kyuhyun, can chew and swallow food in his presence, brush his teeth at the same sink and breathe the same air, because he has been doing it for six years. Because it is easier for everyone involved, himself included, if he does. Because it's amazing what you can do when you don't have a choice.
