(no subject)
NEW ENTRY !!! gasp. i have come back from facebook/the dead/sleepy summer life.
i have had no use for journals this summer. as ferris once said, life happens pretty fast. and summer happened really fast for me, so i couldn't stop to chronicle in mid-stream. not that summer is over or anything. i still have a whole month to go. but all the cool people are leaving me.
houston is experiencing a huge vacuuum of people escaping. like what happens when you first twist off the cap on a snapple bottle. once the air gets in, poof thats it. no more freshness. where has my freshness gone?
madeline and kim left today. i didn't really expect it to be the ordeal that it was. it was intense. a super sing-along (elton john + disney + delivery men joining in...), some good food, and a long sit down in the car with laughing and crying and multiple runs back to the door to say goodbye again... it was drama at its finest. next week more people will leave. then finally it will be me, my exercize nazi, my computer genius, and the 9 (?) st thomas girls. and then... come mid-september... i will finally be out of here.
so all this was made better, or worse, or at least more traumatic for me becuase i got my wisdom teeth out on tuesday. so i look like a chipmunk with a fat lip. it sucks a lot really, and don't listen when they tell you it's wonderful having all those ice cream sundaes and milkshakes. i am yearning for real food!
before all this happened, summer was going along at a lightning pace. we were getting crazier by the week. i knew it had to end soon, or a few of us would find ourselves on the other side of the law... but i think it ended at a good time. we've had basically the time of our lives, and now we're ready to have more of it. in a different location.
so, you don't have to ask the question that everyone has been asking me. i am ready for college. i am ready for late night studying/partying, finishing/beginning papers at two am, dancing/freezing in the snow, and all the crazy/amazing things you can do in Chicago. I am ready for whatever life has in store for me coming this fall. and i really hope it includes some cute new boots.
