Okay, so, since it might be a while, just thanks to the crazy intricacies of log posting, before we get around to having Hush explaining the way that Hushford is going to work ICly, I thought I would post up a simple summary of what they're going to be told.
Here it is:
1. The Activity:
The six participating patients will be separated into pairs of two, each team consisting of a "supervisor" and a "ward." (We're skipping the prison language, at least officially.) Those teams will consist of: Radu (supervisor) and Alyss (ward), Sibrand (supervisor) and Altair (ward), and X (supervisor) and Kanda (ward).
The activity will last for "a few days." OOCly, that'll be until whatever date we decide to set as an end-point to it, be it a fixed IC day or just whenever we feel that we've gotten all the plotty mileage out of it that we can.
All of this is effective immediately.
2. Superviser/Ward Duties:
- Each ward is obliged to ask permission from his or her supervisor, if they want to do even the most basic of things. Want to eat a meal or take a shower or go visit a friend? If you're a ward, you have to ask. And, if you don't get permission, you don't get to do it.
- The limits on exactly what wards are required to ask their supervisor about are going to be left a little vague, so there's wiggle room for them to be lax or strict. Hush will probably give the three examples that I do, above, but supervisors should feel free to insist (or not to insist) that they be asked permission for just about anything else. On the flipside, however, they don't have the option of ignoring this new duty. They can't give blanket permission or blanket refusal to all acitivities, and trying to do so will be counted as a violation of the rules.
- Each ward is obliged to follow any commands given by his or her supervisor. Hush will make it clear that giving commands that violate asylum rules will be punished. He won't make it clear - in fact, he'll be intentionally vague about - whether not obeying such a command would also be punished. (That is, it will be left open as to whether a supervisor giving a rule-breaking command and the ward not following it would get them both in trouble.)
- Wards are obliged to address their supervisors respectfully and deferently.
- Supervisors are empowered to punish disobedient wards in any way that does not violate asylum rules. Both wards and supervisors will continue to be punished by security and staff, if they violate asylum rules. This activity isn't a free pass to misbehave.
And that's it! If there are any questions, please ask here on hit me on AIM.
