Yesterday we were out at my parent's house and my in-laws and brother came over for a BBQ. Well the weather was shitty so we sat on the screened in porch. It was a nice visit. Tried a different rhubarb coffee cake recipe than prior times. It was perfect. I like using my family as guinea pigs to try out new recipes on.
I'm getting final errands done to get ready for Maine. We're going up Wed PM with J & DP and E & BT. Now that there's a shower the plan is to stay 3-4 nights. If we can find someone to come take care of the garden and Max next weekend (we'll ask some local friends and neighbors) then we'll stay 4 nights.
I'm not buying a lot of food ahead (I already have s'moores ingredients up there so really what more is needed...and I have quite a bit of beer up there. We went to BB Beyond today to get some glasses because we're sick of drinking out of plastic cups that smell funny. In the name of discarding plastic that smells funny I've switched my morning travel mug back to metal thanks to Target and their vast selection of travel mugs...all without price tags that required me taking an armful to the self scanner to check prices. Silly Target...they really don't have prices on a lot of stuff that is just in places without price listings. Kind of annoying on a day you're just trying to get the hell out of there fast.
Thinking of trying a new coffee place today Panache Coffee...need 1lb for Maine anyway.
