I've been meaning to relay this story since last week, sorry......
scene: en route from Nashville to B'ham, an exit in northern Alabama. The rarely seen freestanding Subway restaurant.
young male sandwich artist:(bored at counter, could care less that we're there)
young female sandwich artist:(also bored, but will at least take our order.)
y.f.s.a: "Whatchew want?"
me: "6 inch ham and pepperoni on wheat."
y.f.s.a: "Aight"
at this point I see the large poster for the Peter Griffin/Family Guy promotion that Subway is doing.
me:(in between condiment requests) "...so, do y'all get to meet Peter Griffin?"
y.f.s.a: "What?"
me: "Do y'all get to meet Peter Griffin?!"
y.f.s.a: "I dunno"
Siggi:(chiming in somewhat laughingly) "Do you know who Peter Griffin is???"
y.f.s.a:(in an intensely short, snotty, teen angst retort) "OF COURSE I KNOW WHO HE IS! I JUST DON'T KNOW IF WE GET TO MEET HIM OR NOT!!
well..........I guess she told us. Hope she sells enough salami to win the free trip to Quahog. Maybe she also thinks Subway is an actual transportation corporation.
