How I Met Him
Truth be told, I'm the type of person who hard to be impressed. That's why I never admire or idolize something or someone. Then oneday, Yamada Ryosuke came to the spot. And I was like, "woah, he is the first and the last I'll admire." But, actually, it was not love at the first sight.
Well, I first noticed him when watching Tantei Gakuen Q dorama which my friend gave to me during our last year in college. Oh, FYI, I tend to like the cool character in every story XD, so that's the reason I liked Amakusa Ryuu the most in the Dan Detective School (the manga version of Tantei Gakuen Q). When I saw who played Ryuu in the live action, first I complained, because Ryuu should be taller than Kyuu. But as the story run and I got to know more about Yamada-kun's acting as Ryuu, he's grown on me. And I found myself searching about "Yamada Ryosuke" right after finish watching the dorama. And I was surprised! I just knew that the dorama mas made in 2007, it's way old. I was watching it in 2013, just this early year. From his profile in Wikipedia, I then knew that he's also a singer and dancer. WHAT?! That was my reaction. I could not imagine how the cool Ryuu would sing and dance, I just couldn't. Hey, who would guess that that cool, aloof, and serious Amakusa Ryuu was actually a cheerful and mischievous child in his real life. Haha.
The first week of my 'fangirling' was spent for finding all about him. From that, I knew how Yamada Ryosuke was. I started become fan of him when he had released his solo single, Mystery Virgin. So, the headline of him become the one of two male solo singers that top the chart of all time, attracted me more.
Because he involves in two groups, Hey! Say! Jump and NYC, I also searched about them. And I found out that HSJ and NYC is way different. While HSJ is brightly cool, NYC is cheerfully cute. And he could play both of his roles well. It was exciting. I tracked their story back to when they were juniors. Everything became more interesting. I came to know other groups in Johnny and Johnny Jimusho itself after that.
Oh, and I have to highlight the reason why I'm so fond of Yamada Ryosuke. It's not solely because of his appearance, his handsome face, or his cool aura.
First, it's the gap between him in drama and him in real life. I felt it's very good, not every actor could do that: showed a totally different image from his real one.
Second, his way of thought. I read a lot of his interviews, and I found out that he has an interesting way of thinking, almost philosophically. And I love that. I use some of his words as quotes to cheer me on my days.
Third, his struggle. I also read how he had been through the hard times since he joined the agency until present. It encouraged -and is still encouraging- me a lot.
Fourth, his love for people around him. Since I believe that to be loved, you have to love first. I believe that's one of the reason why he has a lot of fans right now (even though there are a lot of haters, too). How hard he works so that he can always show his best performance or how he declared his love for his family and friends. It's just too sweet to be ignored XD
