"It's really okay--" Nami's whispered words carried louder than she'd intended in the narrow, tiled room.
"Shh, I want to," Vivi's voice murmured in reply, breath almost close enough to stirr the air over Nami's ear. Soapy hands, slender and soft, surprisingly firm, slipped across feverish skin, feeling out the too-prominent dips between each rib, each vertebrae.
"A princess shouldn't have to--"
"I know," Vivi smiled, "But while I'm here, with you, all of you, on this ship? 'Princess' doesn't mean a lot. I'd rather you thought of me as your nakama."
The navigator shivered, drawing her knees a little closer to her chest, toes just barely touching the damp floor.
"Are you cold?" One hand squeezing just a little at her shoulder.
Nami shook her head. "No."
