Xion isn't so sure about what she's hearing. If humanity was a disease and Jenova the cure -- which she doesn't believe, not for one second, but she'll try to see it from his point of view -- then why did people get sick if she contaminated the Lifestream? And if she was such a good thing, why use the word contaminated(Lifestream? She just knows what it is. It feels like knowing the name of a stranger in a dream, and knowing that they've been your friend ever since you could remember even if you don't actually know who they are. Which isn't the case with this person, but

“I told you,” Kadaj said, thoroughly annoyed. Why was he talking to this woman again? He should be skewering her alive! But he wasn’t, and he still didn’t know why. Maybe they did have something in common. Maybe she knew something or could be useful in some minor way. If that was the case he should just interrogate her; not this casual talking business. It hadn't worked in the past, so why would it work now?
“All Mother wants is to purify the cosmos once and for all. Then she can finally create the Promised Land.” What the Promised Land actually entailed, Kadaj did not know. It didn’t matter so long as Mother was happy. The young remnant envisioned it as a physical place where he could have Mother all to himself. It would be grand

"I..." Xion hesitates. Why does she want to know? She doesn't remember. She feels like she's walked into the middle of a story someone was telling and has took up playing a part even though she doesn't know what's going on. Then, without quite knowing what she's saying: "I just wanted to know more about you."
She tries to smile. To her... It's kind of sad, this story. It's clear that all Kadaj wants to do is make his mother happy. But, the thing is... What his mother wants isn't right, and on top of that, it isn't fair to him. All he can see is what she wants, and what she wants is what he wants simply because she wants it. That's how love works, after all, but... He doesn't even know what else he could want, probably, because he's like Xion. A Remnant isn't a replica, but... They're similar enough. But at least Xion has had a chance to discover what she wants, what she really wants. (Sunsets, beaches, and ice cream with friends

The fact she admitted defeat before an actual fight placated Kadaj. He was intimidating, and he liked it that way. She respected him on some level. Still, Kadaj was suspicious of her intentions. He has been lied to one too many times in the past.
“Right.” Kadaj scoffed at her words. What she really wanted was to get inside his head-figure out his thought process. She was judging him and Kadaj would be sure to put on a show she would not forget!
“When you humans get sick, a virus invades your body. That virus is an unwelcomed visitor.” He began to pace back and forth, but it wasn’t in aggravation. “All it wants to do, all it deserves to do is flourish.” He approached her again and stood nearby, his view on the vast nothingness ahead of them.
“It serves a purpose. It weeds out the weak. Humanity is a weakness to the cosmos, and Jenova is the virus here to better it! It’s survival of the fittest.” Kadaj finally awarded her a cold glance. “But humanity is far too selfish to realize everything that exists is better without them.”(
"Well..." Xion tilts her head. "Would you believe it, if someone told you something like that?" She shrugs a little and settles back in her seat, her hands folded neatly in her lap. "If someone came along and said that the existence was better off without you, that they were a virus that has come to weed out the weak, and that the weakness was you... You wouldn't believe them, would you? You would fight back, wouldn't you?"
This is the way that Xion thinks, that she tries to think, that she likes to think. What would it be like to be the other person? What would she do in their position? It helps her understand others, to see why they're doing what they're doing.
“I do as Mother dictates.” There was no hesitation in his words. It came out as if he had preached it a million times before. “Whatever Mother wants! If Mother deems the human race unworthy, then they are. It’s as simple as that!” He became animated as he spoke, standing at the edge of where she sat. “ShinRa, and everyone else,” he swept a hand across the landscape, “they’ve already told me I don’t deserve to live. I’m not an individual. I’m just a part of Him.”
The anger was steadily rising in his voice “It’s not up to me.” He admitted and glanced down at her for just a moment. “If Mother wanted me gone then. . .” his voice trailed off. She could fill in the rest.
Xion's fists clench at her sides and before she knows it, she's standing, too. (She's shorter than he is, but she's used to it.)
"That isn't fair!" she shouts. "Just because you're a part of someone else, that doesn't mean you -- " And then she realizes what she's about to say, and what it means, and what it makes her, but she forges ahead anyway, because he still has a choice, a chance to break free, it doesn't have to be like this for him, too. "That doesn't mean you don't get to live your own life! It doesn't matter what you are, human or Replica or God or Nobody, that isn't what makes you a person! That doesn't mean you don't have a right to do what you want! To have a chance to find out what you want! That..."
Kadaj stared straight ahead, without a glance in the girl’s direction or responding to her in any way, as if he didn’t care what she was saying. Her little outburst was less than amusing. It was just an example of humanity not fully understanding his desire-her desire-their desire.
“What I want,” he began again, “is what Mother wants.” His words were hard and cold. They were definite. There was no changing his mind. “I was created to serve Sephiroth.” He sneered. “But only so we could bring back Mother. Now that he’s failed it’s my job to serve Mother directly.”
The sunset fell below the horizon, casting its last rays of warmth across the land. Purplish blues spilled across the sky and only the brightest stars shone through the remaining light. Night was nigh, and so was its familiar chill.
“Being fair doesn’t mean being right.” Kadaj corrected her. “I do what Mother needs. This planet belongs to her and I will not rest or be happy until she gets what she wants. Got it?” Don’t make him explain this again, human. He had done so

She's such a hypocrite.
"It's not fair." Her words are almost inaudible. "It isn't..."
