Interlude II - The Second Dream
[She was thirty years old and already her vibrant red hair was shot through with gray. She had pulled it back into a loose braid that fell to the small of her back. She stood in a vibrant dumbapple field, inherited from her parents. She took care of it as though it were child and, in a way, it was. For some reason, she was never able to bear a child. The doctors said it was probably due to the unknown disease that was making her age prematurely. Though her skin was pale and smooth, it dried quickly. There were no wrinkles, only subtle fine lines appearing.
But despite it all, she didn't mind. She had always had a weak immune system growing up. Genesis wasn't weak by any means, but she became so severely ill even at the slightest of colds, that it tended to be frightening. She was much better now than she was then and if she was going to die relatively young, then so be it. Genesis had already exceeded many of the doctor's expectations. If nothing else, she expected to at least reach 50. She wasn't aging that prematurely, after all. But for now, she lived her life as she wanted it to be. Selling the best Banora Whites, maintaining the local library, and being with her husband, Angeal, whenever he was able to come home from SOLDIER. Like this weekend. He was inside the house, cooking up a hearty dinner while she tended to the last of the trees, taking in any ripened apples she may find.
Genesis wore a soft sundress and a light crimson sweater, the sun beginning to set and a cool breeze rustling through the leaves. Already, she had found several perfect apples to bring in, all sitting in her basket. She turned to head back to the house, sighing softly, when someone catches her eye. She blinks at looks between the trees.]
