It's a castle unlike anything mankind has seen. True -- castles of all different shapes and sizes have littered throughout civilizations. Grand palaces covered in gold and kingdoms forbidden to even the common folk of their glorious empire.

But what makes this kingdom so special? If you look up, it's not the normal sky. Instead, the backdrop is

timeskip: Princess Mercury

[It doesn't matter that they're separated by worlds, by the tens of thousands of years between the Silver Millenium of the past and the restored castle here now. It doesn't matter that her incarnation even looks different from the senshi and princess Neo-Queen Serenity would know.

This is Mercury. The sigil on her forehead cannot be denied, nor the very aura she exudes. And as such, as soon as she realizes she's come upon the princess (as she presumes at first), she does not kneel in her gown but makes a graceful, sweeping curtsy that makes the elegant fabric lightly brush the ground.]

Princess. Please forgive my intrusion.

[She smiles almost mischievously before making a promise:]

I have no lesson books with me.

[She suspects forgiveness will be granted easily, in that event.]

OH MERCURY~

[ At first, Serenity is startled by the sudden sound of someone's voice. She was sure she was alone on this blast from the past, but it seems not likely at all.

Even if she's startled, she makes no note of it except that her eyes are a smidge wider than they normally are as she turns her head to gaze at who it is that's broken the silence. ]

Mercury...

[ It's true -- she does look different. And somewhere in the back of her mind Serenity knows which Mercury this belongs to, but it doesn't matter. A friend is a friend in her eyes and she will not discriminate between the different version. ]

No books with you today? I was sure those books were a permanent fixture by your side.

[ She teases just lightly before she fully turns to face the Mercurian princess. ]

[The chance for peace is, perhaps, a birthday gift from Fate. Certainly, there are many reasons why Usagi might dream of her friends - and why this friend might dream of her, kindly, on this day.

Now Mercury does laugh, softly and gently, quickly covered by a hand.]

Today, I've brought something else.

[The smile widens, and she produces a small package, wrapped in colorful paper and enticing curled ribbon. She holds it out with both hands invitingly.]

[ How lovely that Fate, after all the trials and sadness it had given her, should bless her with this peaceful dream even if it meant bringing up memories of a future unattainable and a kingdom destroyed. ]

[ There is no way she can't not accept the gift so she gingerly takes it from the other girl and looks at it with wide eyes that shine with excitement. ]

What kind of item lies inside, I wonder. It's not another one of your self-study gifts, is it?

[A seven year old with very red hair, in a button down shirt, dress pants and... boots... is standing behind the lady. He's looking at Earth with wide, fearful red eyes. Where is he? W-where's his mother?]

[ At first, Serenity moves so that she can shift to another part of the castle but she notices the tiny little boy, around Small Lady's age, standing and looking up at the Earth.

With a soft smile, she just turns and then kneels down so that she's more on his level. ]

Hello there, little one.

[He turns his attention to you, still fearful.] W-where am I? Who are you?

[He points up at Earth and grows panicky.] I l-live on that! Where am I?!

My name is Serenity. As for where we are...

[ She motions to the gardens and the courtyard, before pointing up at the blue gem in the sky called the Earth. ]

... you are on the Moon.

Timeskip: Ex-Champion Whitlea!

[She's only read of kingdoms before, but not even in her wildest imagination, in the most fanciful books, has she ever seen something like this.

It's enough to make her newly-hatched Eevee hop out of her arms and run around, trying to explore this new place. Whitlea quickly runs after it, yelling.]

[ As she hears Whitelea's voice, Serenity turns from her spot to see the baby pokemon sniffing around and enjoying the scenery. She smiles gently and leans down when it's in a close enough distance; holding out her hand to see if it will at least deem her worthy enough to say hello. ]

Hello, small one.

Hm...let's wing it.

[Eevee looks up at this new person, tilting its head. This is a strange place and it's probably wandered off from its Trainer again, hasn't it?

It hesitantly places a paw on Serenity's hand, just as Whitlea walks up.]

Oh...sorry 'bout that, Eevee always wanders off when we're in someplace new. [And to Eevee] I have no idea what to do with you.

[She says this playfully, as she gets down and ruffles the top of Eevee's head.]

[ When Serenity sees the Eevee has decided to make friends, her smile brightens up and slowly she strokes her thumb over the tiny little paw. Small steps, lest she scare the poor thing. ]

Well, I wouldn't hold it against the little one to explore. I would too if I found myself in an exciting place.

[ She gives Whitelea a glance before turning her attentions back to Eevee. ]

[it's obvious he's lost. Partially in the way his glowing blue eyes are narrowed and suspicious and partially because he simply stands out among all the pristine settings in his rough and tumble outfit that looks partially uniform, partially crabbed together survival armor. Across his back is a huge sword, the hilt swinging slightly behind his shoulder as he moves with confident stride, shoulders back, eyes searching. There's a slightly edged air to him, something that warns you instinctively to back off and keep walking. And if he's impressed by the backdrop in the sky, he has yet to show it. He's obviously not above accosting strangers though because when he spots the slender form in white, he'll stride over to ask bluntly:]

How do I get back to Sector Seven?

[ She can feel the tense aura in the air the moment Cloud steps onto the courtyard grounds. The heavy steps that he takes echo in her ears, but still she's as calm as can be - even when he makes his way over to her and speak to her as if he has no recollection of who she is and what kind of relationship they have. ]

Hrm.

[ Thoughtfully, she taps her chin while her gaze is still trained on the image of the earth with her back still turned to him. ]

Well, I would suppose to get back to Sector Seven you would walk back the way you came!

[ Her chin tapping turns into cheek tapping as a curious gaze that teeters between serious and not very serious at all graces her features. ] Have you tried that way yet?

Walking back the way I came leaves me standing in front of a wall.

[his voice is still its usual low tone but it's got a hard edge to it now, a roughness around the way the words come out. His arms fold over his chest as he tips back the slightest bit, center of gravity shifting. The scowl doesn't seem to be leaving anytime soon either.]

[ Her voice is so casual but it has that slight edge that reflects that she may or may not be enjoying this small conversation. She taps her chin once, twice, three times before she folds her hands behind her back and turns so that she's fully facing the ex-SOLDIER with a slight pout of the lip. ]

Is it important that you return to Sector Seven? You look like you could use a break....?

[ The unsure pause at the end of her question hopefully will allow him to properly introduce himself. ]

[ The TARDIS lands in the gardens, a swirl of wind kicking up around the old blue box. A few moments the Doctor steps out and his eyes go up to the building, mouth hanging out in slight awe as he lets out a low whistle. Obviously he's dreaming--this doesn't exist in his universe, but he knows exactly who it belongs to.

He closes the door behind him and gives a clap of his hands. ]

MWAHAHA B3

[ Even if she hadn't heard that tell tale sound of the TARDIS appearing into the area -- which she had, there was no doubt about that -- the creaking of that door, the whistle and the clap are all familiar.

So, like the ninja graceful Queen she is, Serenity moves through the garden and spots the backs of the Doctor and the TARDIS before clearing her throat and stepping so she's pretty much at his side without a word. ]

[ He whirls around and smiles at her. ]

Usagi--no. Wait. [ He walks over to her, looking her up and down. ] Serenity.
