They were both sitting on a bench near the market as more and more people were coming. The crowd walking in front of them was getting really dense. Jaejoong was talking non-stop and Yunho was trying to follow but it wasn’t easy. Not because the passerby were too nosy, no. It was rather because Jaejoong was too difficult to follow. This boy could not keep his mind on one thing.
He started off by talking about a book and its magical properties. How it worked for people’s dream and whatnot. Then he went on with the story of a magical aye-aye that turned human and decided that he was too awesome for everybody else on the planet. And then, he switched to the story of a bunch of tiny blue people called Smurfs who lived in a big forest. Yunho stopped listening when Jaejoong described how the Smurfs were chased by a horrible cat.
The pork skewer only managed to make him hungrier and now he was thinking about it. The image of the sizzling meat was forming in his mind and he could almost smell it. He licked his lips and for a moment, he was engrossed in his vision.
“...and that’s why you need to help me help you, understand?”
“Aaaah...I’m hungry...” the other sighed.
“Yunho?”
“Huh?” He turned his head to look at Jaejoong. “Sorry, what did you say?”
“WHAT?”
Pause.
Jaejoong looked at him with big bulging eyes. “Don’t tell me you didn’t listen to one thing that I said!” He almost yelled.
“No! I mean, of course I listened!” In the beginning at least, the young boy finished in his head. “Anyways, what do I have to do?”
“First you need to finish reading the book. When you’re done, I won’t appear out of nowhere anymore but...”
“What? If I finish the book you won’t appear anymore? Well that’s awesome! You should have said so from the beginning!” He stood up. “Geez, all that just to get me to read a stupid book.” He mumbled while starting to walk toward the food stand again.
“No! Yunho, wait!” Jaejoong stood up in a hurry, trying to catch up with Yunho.
“Aish, where was that stand again?”
The street was full of people. Yunho stood up on his toes to see further, even thought he didn’t really need to since he was taller than almost everybody.
“Yun...ho...” Jaejoong’s voice was muffled by the crowd. “YUNHO!” He managed to cry out.
The person being called turned his head back but the only thing he could see was a caramel brown head being carried away by a sea of black heads. Sometimes a hand would be seen over all the people. Suddenly Jaejoong’s head managed to pop out from the crowd and he stretched his arm toward Yunho.
“AAAAAAAAH!” He shouted one last time before disappearing, carried away by the mass of people.
Yunho continued looking for a couple of second and shrugged. Now, foooooooood!

Monday morning came. This time Yunho wasn’t late but he wasn’t in awesome shape either. He stood in front of the school gates once again with crooked glasses and a messy uniform. However this time he arrived in class without meeting any puke. He sank in his seat and immediately rested his head on his desk. I feel like I slept all Sunday long and nothing has changed. He thought bitterly. Why is this damn book so long anyway? Can I finish it today? I bet this guy is making more pages appear every time I finish a story.
“Pay attention please!” Since the bell hasn’t rung yet, nobody was listening to the teacher and they just continued chatting. “Shut UUUUUUUUUUUUP!”
Everybody ran to their places and sat straight, looking towards the front. This teacher sure could be a bitch.
“This is our new transfer student, his name is Pa- Jung Yunho!!” Yunho felt something small and hard hit his head. “Wake up this instant!” said the teacher who just threw chalk at him.
Yunho lifted his head while rubbing the top of his skull. He glared at the teacher who pretended not to notice. He then glanced at the new kid who looked somewhat familiar to him.
“So, as I was saying” The teacher glared at Yunho, but he just ignored her and looked outside the window. Familiar or not, a new student was of no interest to him. “We have a new student in our class. I hope you will all welcome him...”
“I’m Park Yoochun! Nice to meet you everybody.” The new kid interrupted the teacher with a deep low voice.
She raised her eyebrows but didn’t say anything.
“Let’s all get along.” He continued while winking cockily to the class.
Girls giggled and boys smirked.
“That is enough Mr. Park” said the teacher with authority. “Now you sit at that empty desk over there and don’t bother me anymore.”
“Ah...yes.” Yoochun bowed slightly in her direction before going to his seat. Noticing Yunho, he made a surprised face. “OHMYGAWWD! You’re the guy from yesterday! ” He yelped while pointing a finger at Yunho.
Yunho jumped and turned to look at the guy standing in front of him. Everybody in the class was also looking at them. Yunho saw it a millisecond too late; the chalk hit the poor boy’s head before he could warn him.
“OOOW” Yoochun’s hand went to rub the back of his head where a bump would surely appear.
“I told you not to bother me anymore!” shrieked the mad teacher.
“Mianhamnidaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa~” He ran to his chair and kept his head low to avoid any other tiny white missiles.
The teacher humph-ed and started her class. Yunho tried to concentrate this time but it was really hard. His eyes were becoming blurry from fatigue and he could hear rather loud rattling sounds behind him. Sigh, what’s he doing to make so much noise anyway? He lifted his glasses a little and pinched his nose. This is gonna be a long day.
Math, history, english, science. The subjects from the first half of the day class were all twirling into Yunho’s head. The bell for lunch time finally rang and his head hit the desk almost right away. This won’t do, I’m so tired. He was about to doze off when a finger tapped his shoulder.
“Whaaaaat?” He moaned while turning his head to the right.
The new kid was sitting in the chair of the person next to him and starring at him. His eyes widened. Somehow his funny face and wavy black hair ringed a bell in Yunho’s mind.
“I knew it!” Yoochun beamed and waved stupidly. “You’re the guy from yesterday! Do you remember me?”
Yunho squinted at him. Ah it’s that guy, at the meat stand.
“Yeah...so?” Yunho said simply.
The other teen just blinked at him. Yunho took his lunch and went off. Yoochun hurriedly got up and followed after him.
“So let’s be friends!” He said. “I’m new here and since we met yesterday, we kind of know each other already! I thought maybe you could show me around and stuff.”
“Oh” Yunho stopped dead in his track making the other almost bump into him. Yoochun then noticed that he was pretty tall and that his back was broad too. He darted his eyes lower down his back...
“It looks like autumn has started already.” Yunho said with a sleepy voice.
Yoochun turned his head to look in the same direction. Outside the window was a pretty scenery. A big tree that’s probably really old was letting its brown leaves fall off slowly. Each of them would twirl gracefully to the ground.
“Oh, it looks like it has.” Yoochun said softly.
He turned again to look at Yunho but the spot where his new friend was standing seconds before was now empty. Yoochun spun his head around and searched for him frantically.
“Aish!” The young boy scratched the back of his head and messed his hair up a little. “Where the hell did he go?” He ran to search for him.
Outside, just under the big three, Yunho had settled down with his lunch and his book. I’m pretty sure it’s this damn book that’s making me so sleepy all the time. Tch, I better finish it fast.
