So, like Brinn, I am pondering where I should go this semester.  Again.  I thought I had things figured out, but it turns out I don't--my parents are hoping to come for a week over Easter.  Also, I don't really know when our reading week is.  One of my Lit instructors claims it's during week 5, but my history instructor has it listed under week 7.  We'll see when I get the rest of my syllabi.  As it stands, though, I am engaged for the next two weekends and possibly the one following.  Next weekend, Liz is coming up from London for a few days (and I'm kind of ridiculously excited--it will be nice to see a fresh Ole), and the weekend after that, I'm going up to Sheffield to visit Allie.  The third weekend, Allie says she's going to London, and I might join her, seeing as I haven't been yet and it would be nice to have a clue what's going on to make my parents' visit less stressful!  But beyond that, I don't know.  I want to take a week during the Easter break and go to Ireland, and take a few days in Krakow.  I also want to go to Germany, Belguim, the Netherlands, and possibly back to Switzerland.  Oh, and Florence.  And anywhere else, if I have time, really.

In terms of the UK, I still have to get around the south a bit, and I'd like to run back up to Scotland if I could.  I also want to get to Wales.  And, of course, Oxford.  There's also Crufts in Birmingham in the beginning of March that I'm going to try to get to.  I really just don't have enough time.  But I guess my planning largely has to wait until I get the rest of my syllabi and know my schedule.  In terms of money, I didn't have any when I came, and I knew things were going to be really expensive.  My flatmate Tom likes to remind me how expensive all my travels are.  But really, that's a major reason I'm here, and I have a stable summer job that pays really well, and I can go back to if I need to (which I probably will...). But my goal is to be gone most weekends, even though I will probably have to go by myself.

planning, travel
