Can I just say one thing? Single women are not a monolithic group. I, as a single woman (or single girl, really, I'm still very young), am very different from Catie (also single), who is very different from my friend Kristin (single last I checked), and so on and so forth. We do not all have the same motivations, thoughts, feelings, or opinions. I'm getting kind of tired of being lumped together with people who are fundamentally different from me in any way that at all matters--lifestyle choices, politics, and world-views. And I'm not just talking about relationship columns here. I've seen articles group single women together as a voting block. Really? All single women? I think my status as a college student and a progressive is a bit more important than my relationship status. My opinions and outlook will be very different from someone who's much older than me, or who isn't groaning under the weight of student loans, regardless of whether or not she is also single. I mean, come on, people!
