Ohmygodohmygod - V for Vendetta is about to be made into a film! Starring Natalie Portman as Evey! Woohoo!
Its being made by the Wachowski brothers and James McTeigue is directing, which I would cautiously call plusses (McTeigue has been Assissant Director on The Matrix trilogy and Dark City, which is good, and the new star wars films, which is not so good. And also Street Fighter. Which is bad, but also a long time ago. This is his first outing as Director).
Bad things: the plot has been changed, apparently. In this version, Great Britain is a totalitarian state (correct according to the original) because Germany won the 2nd World War (I don't remember THAT from the original). And its being filmed on location in Germany, which is...worrying. If it doesn't have Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, and the Post Office Tower, and so on, well it won't really be V for Vendetta. Hmmmm.
But still. V for Vendetta! With Natalie Portman! As Evey! Woot!
