Top 10 QBs for Now

Jul 18, 2009 00:44

1. Drew Brees - New Orleans
2. Peyton Manning - Indianapolis
3. Tom Brady - New England
4. Aaron Rodgers - Green Bay
5. Philip Rivers - San Diego
6. Tony Romo - Dallas
7. Donovan McNabb - Philadelphia
8. Kurt Warner - Arizona
9. Matt Schaub - Houston
10. Matt Ryan - Atlanta

The QB position is pretty deep this year but there are a lot of question marks. The only guy in the top 10 without a question mark in my opinion is Brees. I doubt he will have a record breaking year like last year but with the horrible defense in New Orleans the Saints will be playing to the last minute every week. Also, Brees has tons of weapons.

There are lots of injury concerns on the list as well. Manning, Brady, McNabb, Warner, and Schaub all have issues with injuries and this could impact their production. If Warner plays the whole year he could easily be the number 2 QB on the list as Fizgerald and Boldin are better than any other WR duo in the league. If Brady can come back healthy he could easily be the number 2 QB this year. Manning has a ton of new coaches and no more Harrison in Indy but he is Manning. Schaub has the second best WR in the league to throw to and just needs to play 16 weeks.

Rodgers, Rivers, Romo, and Ryan all have something to prove this season. Rodgers and Ryan need to prove that it was not just a fluke. I think both will. Romo needs to prove he can win the big one and do it without TO. Rivers needs to continue to improve as LT fades. The good thing for Rivers is that LT is still a dominant short yard RB and still commands respect from opposing D’s.
