yay for sisterhood!!
it's been a few since i last updated. oops!
monday night i got a bid from the sisters of Phi Mu to officially become a sister!! yay!! i got to wear my first letters yesterday and i'm so excited. things are still stressful as hell, but its those periodic glimpses of happiness (like the other night) that keep me going. i love those girls. they've helped me through so much, and they probably have no idea.
i've been kinda down lately. i appologize to anyone i may have been short with or just maybe seemed "out of it" or whatever. i'm sorry. i've been like this for a couple months now. i have a lot on my plate. but hopefully, things will start coming together sometime soon. we'll see,right?
as for school...its great! my classes are awesome and its only like the 3rd week of school and i've already made so many friends (and thats not even counting the friends i made while rushing Phi Mu)!! the president of UMBC offered me a seat on his Student Advisory Board. that was very nice of him, i gratefully accepted. this of course means even MORE on my plate, however i feel the experience and the friends that i will make will pay off. i also am applying for an internship at the governor's office this semester for my political science class. (we had to choose between an internship and a 4-6 pg. summary of our experiences, or to choose one of the given topics and write a 4-6 pg. response to it.) i felt the internship might require more time and work, but a paper is always easier to write when based on experience. i'm also trying to work with the Shriver Center eventually. trying to line-up some more interenships (even some paid ones), and working with a few programs that they have. i have to attend some preliminary meetings first, but i think this might be something good for me to get involved in.
in addition to all of the school stuff, i am living on my own. i'm still trying to make some adjustments to the house. very frustrating. very time-consuming. very.....much still an issue for me. taking care of a house by yourself is a lot of work. although i am only 30 min. from family, its still quite a distance. speaking of distance...there is still no sign of a starbucks near my place. this is a problem. and i AM that girl that will drive 30 minutes for good coffee. haha. i'm so crazy!
i think that's good enough for now. i'd say this was a pretty hefty update. the funny part is that this isnt even HALF of it. kinda paints a rather vivid picture of what my life is like,huh? enjoy!
